Information on Verizon FiOS Service in Occoquan

In May of 2008 the Occoquan Town Council approved a nonexclusive franchise agreement with Verizon to bring the company's fiber optic system (FiOS) digital television, internet, and telephone service to the town. FiOS television service may be available to some town residents as early as the late summer or early fall of 2008. Information regarding the implementation of the service may be obtained below.

Status of Implementation Build Out:

The monthly Verizon FTTP fiber build out may be tracked at the website www.verizon.com/virginia under the "FTTP Build" in the center of that site's home page. This site also has a fact sheet on FiOS service and a description of how the installation process works.

Construction Issues:

Fiber construction issues may be referred to the Verizon Virginia Construction Help Desk at  1-888-250-9710.  The Call Center hours are 8 am to 5 pm Monday - Friday.  During this time, customers can speak with a live representative.  Verizon contractors also take complaints through their call centers.  Their numbers are provided on the 3-5 day door tag and the "Construction Complete" door tag distributed to relevant residents in advance of and during construction.
